Think Store
The Think Store study support centre is a not for profit organisation designed for young people between the ages of 14 and 25. It is open to all secondary schools and the community of Newham. The centre is based on the same principles of the “Playing for Success” schemes which operate at various sporting centres throughout the UK. However unlike the previous scheme it is unique for the fact that it deals with an older age group and is situated to use business enterprise as opposed to sport to inspire and motivate young people through innovative and exciting courses.
Situated in the Stratford Centre adjacent to the site for the new Olympic development this centre has been created through the efforts of many partners, all striving towards supporting young people in Newham to achieve and excel their potential. It is Managed by Learning Community Services. Housed and part funded generously by Land Securities, who own The Stratford Centre with immense backing in funds and support from the Jack Petchey Foundation.
The Think Store provides a unique experience to young people of Newham by giving them the opportunity to study real life businesses in the community and provide them with first hand knowledge and experience of the processes involved in starting and maintaining these enterprises.
